Telkwa Community Church

Who we are:

• We are a welcoming, friendly, compassionate church family. We are multi-generational with all ages from newborn to seniors. We gather to worship in unity as believers with many backgrounds and perspectives. 

• Our church is led through a council consisting of elders and deacons using the Holy Word to guide them under the direction of the Holy Spirit.

• We have a Discipleship Director, Mike Cunningham, who gives guidance to help us all share ministry together.

• We celebrate during times of joy and grieve together during times of sorrow.

• We care for everyone through friendship and prayer, sharing meals together, giving support during times of difficulties such as dropping off meals as a sign that someone is thinking of them, or providing a quilt that is a lasting hug. 

• We strive to reach out to our surrounding neighbours to let them know that we care. We participate in a community soup kitchen once a month.

• We pull together to provide meaningful worship and spiritual direction using everyone's gifts no matter what stage of life they're in.

Accessibility:

• Our building has three levels with an elevator giving access to each level. Our building entrance is wheelchair accessible, and there is accessible parking adjacent to the entrance.  

• We have an accessible washroom with automatic doors, grab bars, & a baby change table upstairs close to the sanctuary. We also have 2 washrooms are in the basement, with a stall suitable for a wheelchair in the women's washroom.

• We offer space at the back of the sanctuary for those who need room to move.

• Anyone is welcome to use pencil cases and colouring pages at anytime in the service.  (They are on the back table in the sanctuary.) 

• We welcome all people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, and are open to suggestions to improve your experience in our church. Please let our greeters know what accommodations you need. ​

We belong to a wider family of churches called the Christian Reformed Churches of North America made up of more than 1000 churches in Canada and the US. As a denomination, we are involved in a number of areas that address the brokenness of life locally and globally.
